Lili is the sweetest little terrier mix with a special bond with her parents and her brother, Charlie. Lili's mom contacted me wanting a session to honor Lili because she is currently battling a type of cancer called lymphoma. My own personal dog passed away from lymphoma last year, and I know how hard it is to watch your beloved pet fall ill and battle this vicious cancer. Lili has been undergoing chemo and was doing well at the time of her session. I think we created some beautiful photos to honor her bond with her family!
Having lost my own personal dog to cancer, I passionately believe that doing a photography session for a pet who has cancer can be a profoundly meaningful and compassionate gesture.
Here's why:
- Cancer diagnosis in pets can be a challenging and emotional time. A photography session allows you to capture the unique moments and expressions of your pet, preserving their essence and personality.
- These photos become cherished mementos that can help you remember the joy and love your pet brought into your life, even during difficult times.
- It's an opportunity to celebrate your pet's life and the special bond you share. These photos can show the world the resilience and spirit of your furry companion.
- Sharing the photos of your pet's journey can raise awareness about pet cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment. It may inspire others to seek proper veterinary care for their pets.
- As your pet's condition progresses, these photos can offer comfort and closure when the time comes to say goodbye. They provide a tangible reminder of the love and care you provided during their illness.
- After your pet has passed away, these photos can be a source of comfort during the grieving process. They can help you remember your pet with love and fondness.
In summary, a photography session for a pet with cancer is a way to honor and celebrate their life, capture their unique personality, and provide comfort both during their illness and after they've crossed the rainbow bridge. It's a beautiful and compassionate gesture that reflects your deep love and bond with your pet.
I think this love and bond were pretty apparent during Lili's session!
